What changed in Free 1.1.3

Free 1.1.3 enables an optional WordPress.org review invitation after 30 days of meaningful use, five usage days and three real replays. Choose an honest review, a 30-day reminder or no further invitations. Author, contributor and screenshot metadata now match the directory listing. Pro stays at 1.1.2; its tools and activation requirements are unchanged. Replace Free without uninstalling. The 1.1.2 manual covers the unchanged tools; use the current online guide for installation requirements.

Free and Pro 0.4.5 · 28 October 2026

Keep recording while you investigate.

The 0.4.5 matched pair separates long investigation reads from the short recording-write checks, so reviewing a larger retained library no longer holds the capture lock for the whole report.

  • Keep issue counts and examples consistent while rechecking deletion, withdrawal, expiry and staff access before showing the result.
  • Preserve existing recording, consent, licence and workflow data through the verified storage update. New installations still begin with recording off.
  • Recover more clearly from damaged settings and failed consent saves; keep unsaved changes available for an explicit retry.
  • Retry uploads unless the store confirms the correct recording and chunk, including when a response is lost.
  • Verify Pro update packages against their signed version and requirements, and keep interrupted privacy cleanup retryable.

These reliability improvements include the additional local 0.4.4 audit builds, first published together here as 0.4.5. They do not change pricing, first licence activation, recording consent or optional-email defaults.

What the larger-library test shows

Selected MariaDB and MySQL fixtures each held 20,000 small, directly seeded recordings and 100,000 issue events. Median native capture time during a report fell from about 1.8–3.4 seconds to 14–26 milliseconds; the report itself still took about two seconds. A case with 112 different investigation owners briefly delayed capture by up to 0.23 seconds.

These are bounded shared-host tests, not 20,000 browser visits, a sustained traffic capacity or a guarantee for every hosting setup. Retention, storage budgets and ordinary access checks still apply.

Keep the investigation moving.

Pro adds My review queue, shared saved-view editing, checkout change markers and easier developer handoffs.

  • Filter investigations by owner, status and new evidence without changing their review state.
  • Rename, update and duplicate saved views, with revision checks that preserve your draft when another manager changes the view.
  • Compare retained evidence immediately before and after a labelled checkout change. Partial after periods and retention limits stay visible.
  • Copy plain-text or Markdown developer briefs, or print and save a PDF using the browser. Clipboard denial has a manual-copy fallback.
  • Keep existing recording, consent, licence and optional-email choices. The Free update protects unsaved change forms during navigation.

Comparisons do not prove that a change fixed an issue. Change labels do not extend recording retention. At this release, the hosted demo and PDF manual still showed 0.4.1. Both have separate version labels; use the current guide for today’s workflow.

Free and Pro 0.4.3

Keep your recording choices through an update.

Corrects an upgrade path that could pause recording when an existing Free installation updated to 0.4.2. Compatible local upgrades now preserve recording state, consent, setup progress and retained data instead of rerunning first-install setup.

Updating from 0.4.2? That release could pause recording during an upgrade. Version 0.4.3 preserves the current recording and setup choices. Check Recording status after updating; resume only if you intend to record and consent is configured. An update does not turn paused recording on.

New installations still start with recording off. Pro is a matching version update; its tools and licence requirements are unchanged. At this release, the hosted demo and manual still showed 0.4.1.

Frictions now explains relevant Pro workflows beside your review tasks, with clearly labelled previews, genuine screens using fictional data and a practical Free/Pro comparison.

  • Explore the Pro result and the steps needed to use it.
  • Keep an explicitly chosen upgrade task in this browser for up to seven days, then resume after installation and a valid first activation.
  • Hide or restore suggestions and preview tabs for your WordPress account on this store.
  • Keep existing Free tools, recording consent, storage, retention and the Pro licence contract unchanged.

Previewing sends no message and grants no Pro access. At this release, the hosted demo and PDF manual still showed 0.4.1.

Free and Pro 0.4.1

Clear activation. A practical next step.

New Pro installations need one successful licence activation before their local review tools open. After legitimate activation, those tools remain available on that site when offline or after updates and support expire. Clearing the local connection locks Pro tools immediately without deleting retained data. A release made in your account takes effect when this site next checks its licence.

  • Keep the complete recorder and player in Free, with no Frictions account required.
  • Follow an observed WooCommerce issue through an assigned investigation and a developer brief.
  • Use the updated setup guide and downloadable Free/Pro manual.
  • Keep shopper consent, optional email choices and paid activation separate.

Free activation opens the focused setup workspace. Optional installation sharing and confirmed email signup are independent, unchecked choices. Pro activation opens its licence connection for registered-site updates and support.

  • Keep setup, communication choices and shopper recording consent separate.
  • Find relevant Pro workflows from contextual examples and the real demo.
  • Manage registered sites and find the installation steps in your purchase account.
  • Preserve existing replay protections, settings and local Pro tools after entitlement expiry.

Free and Pro 0.3.7

More reliable deletion and upgrades.

This maintenance release improves input validation and the handling of overlapping upgrade requests.

  • Free: validates every recording ID in a bulk-delete request before deduplication or database work.
  • Pro: serializes overlapping local storage upgrades to avoid duplicate-column warnings.
  • Both editions: use matching version 0.3.7 packages.

Back up, replace Free first, then Pro, and do not uninstall. An ordinary replacement update preserves local data and settings.

Free and Pro 0.3.0Recordings move to your own WordPress hosting.
0.3.0

Recordings move to your own WordPress hosting.

Move recording and processing to private local database tables. Remove the mandatory hosted service connection and commercial recording allowances. Include local retention, storage budgets, cleanup and protected structural playback in Free.

The separate Pro add-on introduces local guided investigations, saved views, team notes, evidence review state, developer briefs and optional WordPress-mail notifications. Installed local functionality no longer depends on a hosted subscription or online licence gate.

Historical demonstration captures may show 0.3.0 and remain labelled with their actual recorded version.

Updating from an older release?

Use the supported Free and Pro version pairing. Follow the update guide to preserve your local data. Versions before 0.3.0 used a different hosted architecture; installing the local edition does not migrate remote data or cancel a historical subscription.
